Still Quirky and Original,
This review is from: Jonathan Creek - Series 5 [DVD] (DVD)
I feel I have to write a good review of Series 5 to counter too many poor reviews. For one it is still not like any other Mystery/Detective drama on TV at the moment and Alan Davies is as good as ever. Renwicks writing is fantastic and in my opinion as reinvented the show brilliantly. The stories are clever and slightly over the top and that just adds to the charm of it all.
people seem to be yearning for the Caroline Quentin days with the windmill and Adam klaus as the magician who Creek did the tricks for. But I think it is good that Jonathan Creek as moved on and settled in a strange little village with his wife. I will admit to missing the fab Sheriden Smith and hope she will return one day, and of course his Duffel coat does deserve an outing.

I don't think that it's a case of "yearning for the Caroline Quentin days" as you say, it's just the current episodes lack any real plot. The storylines just aren't very good anymore. I too miss Sheridan Smith, she was my fave Creek sidekick!
