Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Ladurée: Sucré: The Recipes (Hardcover)
I know this has already received some rave reviews - but I was not quite prepared for the sheer beauty of this amazing little book.
The packaging has been described in detail and it is just wonderful. The embossed and gilded box opens up to a delicate lilac tissue paper cradling the soft green suede-effect covered book. Just on the presentation alone, you can tell this is a very special piece of work.
The recipes are detailed but not daunting. The text clear and precise. The photography tempting.
Is this a book that I will ever take into the kitchen to work from? NO! I will copy out any recipe that I want to recreate (and there are many) and keep the book in as pristine a condition as possible.
If you have a friend who loves baking or Paris - buy this book. If you love beautiful objects - this book should be part of your collection. If, like me, you are someone who loves Paris, Baking and Beauty - then don't delay.
(I am not usually this effusive in my reviews - but this really did blow me away... if I had the money, I would be on the Eurostar to sample the real thing from the Laduree shop!)
