Essentially '74 jailbreak with a couple of extra tracks. This is a taste of ac/dc as they were they were coming onto the scene. Not as heavy as some of the later stuff like 'let there be rock', but the riffs are there and they are corkers.
The track 'love song' is an example of what many of us didn't think would ever exist, ie, a ballad! It is up to you to decide whether you like it or not (i like it). The likelyhood is that it was a take-the-mick' number, but whatever their motivation for recording this track, when compared to the rest of the album it's hardly suprising that they stuck to the hard stuff. 'Soulstripper' is the undoubted highlight of the album, and is as good as anything you'll ever hear from the band.
Angus was probably still growing into his shorts when acca dacca released this one, but by then he already knew how to rock.
