I fitted this card in my Acer Aspire 5750 Laptop as my new shiny Virgin Media SuperHub 2 can use the 5gig band and my old modem fitted to my Acer was a Broadcom 802.11n and would connect at 300mbs on 2.8gig but only for a short while then it would revert back to 150mbs and it was getting harder and harder to watch an HD BluRay movie file directly from my NAS as it would stop and start and go out of sync.

The seller sent this item to me so quickly it made my head spin. I ordered it on 11-11-13 late on in the evening and received it on 13-11-13 in my morning post, that's what I call superior service and that goes for other items I've bought from Robin PC, always top quality, always quickly delivered and always work first time.

Don't be put off like some friends of mine who read the Centrino part of the description and thought it was only for that model of Laptop. This modem will work in virtually all laptops fitted with a PCI mini modem wireless port.

Also you wont get any drivers with the modem which is no problem whatsoever you can either fit the new modem and then insert a USB WiFi dongle as I did or simply download the drivers for your version of Windows before you fit the new modem. Also the Intel driver update tool is useless unless you have the drivers installed for the modem first, it only offers updated drivers it won't tell you which one you need until the modem drivers are installed, so pretty useless for installation needs but useful afterwards for seeing if there are any updated drivers for you to install.

One more thing, don't forget your FREE version of Laplink PC Sync it's FREE if you have bought one of these modems and it allows you to install on another laptop as well. You have to register it on line with your email address as it sends you your KEY number for the second installation but the link sent in the email doesn't work for second download but you use the original download from the Intel web site.

Anyway, it's a good product and works extremely well and its as fast as lightning, and best of all for an Intel piece or equipment it's cheap.
