I'm a life-long wet shaver, and have previously avoided electric razors because I've baulked at the up-front cost and imagined them to be less effective. However the results from this Philips razor have impressed me.

Whilst it has a 'use wet or dry' facility, I've stuck with dry shaves because it's the convenience I wanted - I welcome anything that saves me time getting ready in the morning!

The blades cut close and effectively. I shave every day (although don't experience '5 o'clock' shadow) and this does the job nicely. A full battery charge lasted me over two months, and it can be recharged quickly by plugging it in to a shaver socket for an hour or so. Cleaning the unit is also easy, just requiring you to flip a switch and run the head of the unit under the tap.

The instructions recommend replacing the blade units after two years, which seems reasonable to me - although I've not explored how much replacements blades cost.

Overall, for the price, it seems a sound purchase. Well built, easy to use, convenient and effective. Recommended.
