This review is from: Masterchef Australia: Masterclass (3 dvd set) (Region 4) (DVD)
I'm reviewing Masterchef Australia as it is not possible to review the Greg Wallace, Greg Torode series running on BBC 1 at the moment.
I think Masterchef, for Wednesday night TV on BBC 1,is beautifully staged: wide, open, vistas, no slackening of pace, an intelligent commentary and nerve jangling music make for a really good show that is part reality TV and part celebrity drama.
Franc Roddam has delivered a TV format and series that is testiment to his talents.

I don't understand this review. It says it's for Masterchef Australia but goes on to say it's for Masterchef on BBC tv. Masterchef Australia has been on 'Really' not the BBC. In my opinion, Masterchef Australia is far better than the UK version. All the contestants are present on each show, so you get to know them all. It is spread over a longer period and the challenges and cooking experiences are far more comprehensive than in UK Masterchef. It is also more fun, lighthearted and interesting, whilst the cooking is of an incredibly high standard with famous guest judges and excellent Masterclasses. George and Gary are superb 'judges' and I only wish this show was on the BBC. It has now moved to a channel on Sky, which I cannot get - very frustrating! I miss it a lot.
