This review is from: Calling the Shots: Directing the New Series of Doctor Who (Paperback)
"It's okay" sums up this book.
On the one hand, the story of how Doctor Who is taken from script to screen and the work of a director is very interesting. On the other, much of this book is page after page of quite dull itinerary. The interesting facts and anecdotes are buried amongst the mass of dates, places and logistical trivia.
Ironic that Graeme's most often repeated directions "Lots of energy and lots of pace" didn't apply to the content of his book.
Also, disappointing that the photo section contains only stock pictures of the principle cast and shows nothing of Graeme at work or the making of Doctor Who.
