Better than before, but something is not quite right...,
This review is from: Burnout 3: Takedown (Xbox) (Video Game)
When I first played Burnout 2 I thought it would be very difficult to come up with a better driving game, but Burnout 3 is exactly that. Similar to the original in style, but some much better in content. The cars, tracks and crashes all look and sound amazing (especially in Dolby Digital), and the gameplay is fast and frenetic. We still have head to head racing but the idea of forcing your best friend into oncoming traffic (the 'Takedown' of the title) has added a whole new dimension. I love this game!
So you may be wondering why only 4 stars? Well, the game is great and while you are driving it is hard to fault but the menu and game navigation is not as good as Burnout 2. I don't want to have to crash 15 times before I get to my next proper 'race'! I just want to jump in the car and force my fellow competitors into the front of the next Big Rig! And why so many screens between events? One or two would have been fine but we seem to have about six or seven!!! And how can I use that security van that I just acquired?
To be fair, these are minor gripes, the game is great... I just wish there were options to allow you to crash or race in the World Tour mode rather than having to do both.
