This review is from: The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips (Paperback)
I didn't massively like the story and skipped all of the parts that didn't have the cat in them, then read the end. I am not too much of a Michael Morpurgo fan, and his novels are not at all mentally challenging or particularly enjoyable, but the types of novels that you skip half the story of, read the end and feel oddly satisfied. The title character in this book is a cat, so I decided to buy it. As always with Morpurgo novels, I read the start then read the final ten pages, finishing the book and feeling as though I'd read all of it.
Style of writing is not the best, but it is about a cat, it is not a bad novel (merely not an exciting or at all challenging one) and its ending is satisfying. I have said this before, but it is the same with most Michael Morpurgo books. The story is not that great, but you are happy with the ending and therefore, when reviewing it, you do not give it a really bad review, merely a mediocre one.
