Decent Album But Doesn't Pack A Punch,
This review is from: The Ultimate Sin (Audio CD)
This was Ozzys fourth studio album & it's pretty much a mixed bag of songs.
The Ultimate Sin sees Ozzy in a more rock pop commercial light which goes against what's come before or after thanks to a resurgence of Rock greatness with Zak Wylde on the following album No Rest For The Wicked.
There are a few good tracks on this album, Secret Loser being my favourite it has a catchy chorus with some great rock riffs courtesy of Jake L.Lee's great guitar playing.
Shot In The Dark is a likeable song & was one of the songs that was released as a single while the Ultimate Sin is a worthy metal classic & a great title song opener.
Other tracks on this album like Killer Giants, Fool Like You & Thank God For The Bomb seem quite flat & not polished enough to stand out as classic Ozzy, As I thought they have a "That'll do" feel to them.
Ozzy himself admitted this album could've been a better & fair play to his honesty, While it is not a total disaster this does lacks the spine tingling power of other Ozzy albums, Sadly I thought this album a missed opportunity.
