Funny and Disturbing,
This review is from: Dude, Where's My Country? (Hardcover)
While "Stupid White Men" was hardly supportive of George W. Bush, "Dude, Where's My Country?" gives Michael Moore ample opportunity to voice his disquiet in today's post-9/11 world.
Moore sets out his indictment of Bush's regime beginning with the Iraq war, which as we all know would be cheaper if we just sent all the troops home and shot one of them each day. Then comes the PATRIOT Act, some more anti-Bush arguments, how to avoid being targeted by terrorists, and the now familiar territory of corporate corruption (Enron, et al.) Finally, there is the somewhat unnerving prospect of the 2004 Election.
If you're looking for a relaxing read, go elsewhere; this book contains material that is both interesting and worrying. Well researched, humorous and thought-provoking, "Dude, Where's My Country?" is compulsory reading for any would-be subversives.
