uninspiring and misleading,
This review is from: How to Cook the Perfect... (Hardcover)
Some may be mislead by this title into thinking they are buying a book which unleashes some secret method of producing a "perfect" restaurant quality dish which you can replicate at home - actually, I think the general aim is to produce what he considers "perfect" versions of every day dishes..."perfect" eggs, sausage and mash, chops, roast beef, chocolate cake, tomato soup and so on...home cooking!
I cannot comment on whether the recipes work in this respect because - despite having the book on my shelf for well over a year, I was not inspired me to cook from it! If you have any cooking knowledge at all or are a cookery book collector, this book is very much a dull affair. The writing is dull. The recipes are dull. The photography is dull. If the recipes work - great - but you'll probably be too deflated and uninspired to cook anything from it by the time you have looked at it.
