I do so agree with JH Buckingham!
Thank goodness there are still some parents in this once glorious nation who are prepared to stand up for what they believe in, not caring that others may accuse them of being small-minded and neurotic, too limited - or too scared - to allow their children to have an imagination! Following her lead in complaining to Penguin about the number of times a character is shown smoking in this "book", I emailed them to complain that Rupert, my son, keeps mis-pronouncing the title of the Janet Ahlberg picture book as "Bugger Bill"!
I really don't know what sort of sick joke they think they're playing, but I for one won't let them get away with it. Nevermind that Rupert is 38 and lives in Milton Keynes, it's the principle of the thing. I blame the parents. And "teachers". And the EU.
