Excellent kit...strange pricing policy,

This review is from: Logitech Harmony 900 Advanced Universal Remote Control with RF capability (Accessory)
A number of reviews have summarised the functionality of this product - so I'm not going to repeat these. Certainly do expect to take some time (1 to 2 hours) to get the initial setup correct, and then some more time as you use the device to tweak the setup. The most problematic thing for me was actually making sure that I got the right device name for my Sky box. I am controlling a Sky+ HD 1TB box. This just needs to be called Sky+ HD (don't give it the generic Amstrad Cable/Satellite box name).
One good thing not mentioned is the helpful Remote Assistant software in the controller which runs through a sequence of questions to help put right any problems that may have occured if devices get out sync with the controller (perhaps by using another remote control). Also the Logitech interface for making tweaks is excellent (well written with the questions it needs asked in English!). For me, there is more that this device CAN do than it CANNOT with the correct programming - so for complex AV kit setups it is an excellent choice.
My comment on the pricing. This seems to change quite frequently. When I bought mine the Harmony One+ was selling at £122 and the Harmony 900 was selling at £158. So the small extra price for the RF functionality (which can be set up at any time) was worth it. My units are not in closed cabinets but may be obscured by furniture so in this case the price diffence was worth it. The price margin (as at 15 May is £116 for the One+ and £192 for the 900 - so it is more of a consideration. I'm not sure whether you can add RF technology to enhance the Haromny One+ later on
