A great introduction to Bukowski,
This review is from: The Pleasures of the Damned: Selected Poems 1951-1993 (Paperback)
I bought this for a friend of mine after he had introduced me to the contemporary English poet Fernando Smith and his book "Welcome to the Golden Life" (who has now become essential reading in my house!)I thought he'd like Bukowski, whom he'd somehow overlooked, and i wasn't wrong! This is a great introduction to the poet, filled with a range of dark emotions and every now and then a lightness that surprises. Recommended.

I'm sorry... ARE you Fernando Smith? It's just curious that you commented on 4 products within 3 days all saying basically the same thing: buy "Welcome to the Golden Life", which must have only recently come out when you wrote your reviews. If you aren't then I apologise profusely for questioning your devout fealty and fanboyism. If you are, then maybe you should just try writing better poetry? Naughty limericks always seem to go down a storm.
