A craftsman at his peak,
This review is from: Lloyd Cole (Audio CD)
This recording was the soundtrack for my late teens and having just hit 30 I can still say that it rates in my top 10 LP's of all time. The critics had a pop it at as they felt that Lloyd was a middle class English drifter. There was also the feeling that he had lost his purpose - writing and recording the LP in New York with a string of big names like Fred Maher on lead guitar. However, critics aside, afficionados of Lloyd Cole will all know that this remains one of his most treasured works. Rich in quality and beautifully produced. An artist in full flight.
