Carla Kelly's Magic Touch,
This review is from: The Surgeon's Lady (Harlequin Historical) (Mass Market Paperback)
I have been a fan of Carla Kelly's for a while now, & she never fails to please! I have hunted for this book for several months. I was really excited to find it on Amazon.co.uk.
The story is one of a trilogy that isn't apparent at first-3 sisters "born on the wrong side of the blanket" being raised in a very proper school, only to find out-at different times,obviously-that their "father" was willing to sell them to the highest bidder. Each daughter has her own story to tell, but this one was really good.
The heroine has baggage not only from the treatment by her father but also her husband's brutal use of her. How she overcomes these twin stumbling blocks,& grows to reach her full potential is heart-warming but not sappy. The romance hits the right notes, as well. No need for "bodice-ripping" love making to tell a good story!
A great addition to Ms. Kelly's list of previous winners.
