Amateur Astronomy One Step Further!,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Practical Amateur Spectroscopy (The Patrick Moore Practical Astronomy Series) (Paperback)
If you have been practising astronomy for some years and wish to take your understanding of stellar composition a step further the material in this book is a fine grounding in how to do so. There is all the necessary theory including some not too complex mathematics and plenty of information on practical ways to capture, process and interpret star spectra. I particularly like the diy spectrographs. Inevitably some of the practical material could do with an update as more suppliers are now marketing spectrographs aimed at the amateur market. If you have experience in astronomical imaging of faint objects then this book can show you how to take it a step further, if not then just read it for the useful and interesting information contained therein. I would recommend this book to any amateur astronomer interested in furthering their hobby.
