Too rude for anything other than seedy situations,
This review is from: Dictionary of French Slang (Barron's Dictionaries of Foreign Language Slang) (Paperback)
The majority of terms in this book are far too rude to be used in everyday use/conversation/situations. They might be useful if you wish to get involved in the seedier side of French life, but otherwise don't bother. My French boyfiend was horrified by the content of this book.

The Pope's nose says:
That experience must have been a very sheltered one. Having spent the last few months in Paris I can tell you that such expressions are often heard in everyday usage in the street etc. They are certainly not standard or acceptable in polite conversation, but they are redolent of how younger people speak everyday and are reflected in TV, films etc. As such I thought the book quite helpful.
