Probably best described as Irish Americana the Losties third album comes replete with their trademark Everley style harmonies and songs rooted in the familiar country-folk tropes of despair, tragedy and ill fated love.
Raconteur Brendan Benson produces sympathetically allowing the songs to breathe effortlessly with occasional flourishes of musical saw and pump organ to spice up the pair's deft fingerpicking.
You can identify their influences Louvin Brothers,Carter Family and others but this talented duo have honed their own distinctive sound and write songs of such sublime beauty and melody worthy of a much wider audience.
They are touring with Glen Hansard in January but deserve to be headlining themselves if only talent was acquainted with commercial success.
