Great book by a great man.,
This review is from: Mankind: Have a Nice Day! - A Tale of Blood and Sweatsocks (Hardcover)
This book is incredibly well written, not in the classic sense, but in the way that even people who don't like wrestling can become absorbed in Mick Foley's story. The way Foley portrays the business as an art rather than a sport, immediately dispels any misgivings the reader could have about reading a book written by a wrestler. This fascinating portrayal, together with his warm humour, makes this book a hugely entertaining read, one which I saw the end of in a matter of days. For wrestling fans its biblical, the stories he tells and insight given have meant that a lot of what wrestling fans know about the industry is attributed to the pages of this book: as shown by the countless references to it on Wikipedia. Mick Foley does his career and life justice here: and if all the suffering he has brought upon himself for the benefit of his fans, is made worth it in people recognising it in this this account.. then maybe just maybe he can try, to have a nice day, bang bang!!
