Strange but enchanting,
This review is from: Kafka On The Shore (Vintage Magic) (Paperback)
This is the first novel by Murakami that I have read, after deciding to try his work after reading "What I talk about when I talk about running". I do not read a lot of fiction, but despite the surreal and potentially controversial themes in the book. I found the characters so well crafted, that I cared about them.
I would be wary of recommending this book, as I think that his style is probably an acquired taste - but I will definitely read some more of his novels.
