Difficult without teachers, or perhaps CD and written explanations,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Arabic Course for English-Speaking Students vol 1 to 3 (complete set) (Paperback)
Would be better if CD's were available to accompany these books. I have to borrow basic spoken cd's . These books require a good teacher for pronunciations, meanings, and grammar.

Picky buyer: Audios are available and accompany this course. They are free - kind courtesy of the author - that is why you will not find them in the bookstores. If you do a goodle search you will find the Free audios. They provide the pronunciation you are seeking. Also, the author's practice of providing complete English transliteration, gives you the ability to pronounce the Arabic words correctly.
As for meanings and grammar, then the books themselves are extensive, with full explanations, simply written, and act as the 'teacher' for home learners. All meanings of words are given in the course books themselves. The course-tailored dictionary (which can be bought but is also a free download at selected websites) further compliments the meanings and explanations given in the course books.
