This is a really interesting book which looks at the way the brain works and the many ways in which we can be deceived by our own interpretation of our surroundings. The authors use lots of real life situations, anecdotes, news stories and experiments to illustrate their points and there is definitely a lot to think about here, as well as a lot of conversation starters!
However I admit I struggled a little with the book because it is written in quite a textbook like style and I was expecting something a bit more accessible. It is readable, but it's not the sort of book you'd sit down with for hours, and I found that once I'd put it down it was tricky to get back into. It can also be a little heavy handed and preachy at points, and goes over the same thing again and again.
This is worth reading but buyers should be aware that it's not really a fun book and definitely requires time and concentration!
