A very accessible way in to DC,
This review is from: Justice League - Origins (Vol. 1) (Hardcover)
I've never read a DC comic before i started reading this series. Of course i was well aware of their characters through films and tv shows. DC made the smart choice of make this title to start on. Its the origins story of Justice league and how they became the world greatest heroes. Johns does a great a job of introducing the characters and at least providing a basic explanation of who they are (of course if you want to learn more about say superman you'd read action comics. Lee's art is excellent through out and the colours distinctive and bright for the story.
Only criticism is the story is rather thin... There are aliens attacking, the heroes all meet up and darkside appears, then the aliens are sent back in a rather convenient way. I accept that was done for the sake for making it accessible to new readers. but I remember getting into marvel comics through "the Ultimates" which was a origins story for marvels version of the justice league (The Avengers) and the story had a lot more depth.
I don't think this a major problem unless your a hardcore DC fan who used to expecting more. If your new you'll enjoy it for what it is and it will leaving you wanting more.
