I don't want to let go,
This review is from: Blood Prophecy (Drake Chronicles) (Paperback)
Please bear in mind that this is book 6 in the series and may therefore contain spoilers for the previous books.
Firstly let me start by saying that you really need your wits about you when reading this book. There are just so many things going on. The multi-person narrative while giving insight and understanding on a deeper level to the characters and plot took a little getting used to on this occasions because as I have already stated this book is just packed full.
While all of the characters voices are represented within the story the predominant voice is that of Solange. It is without a doubt her character development that shines through the story, with Lucy's a close second, bringing the story full circle as they were the principal characters in the first book.
Alyxandra Harvey's ability to drive the plot and the character development simultaneously is a true testament to her skill as a writer. This book does both these things brilliantly. While the characters themselves develop into amazing individuals I did feel as if their relationships were secondary elements within the narrative. For me it was the relationships that were the foundation of the series and I was only marginally disappointed that we didn't get to see more of the couples in this book. However, there is so much going on and so many plot threads tied together in this final installment of The Drake Chronicles that I cannot complain too much
I honestly don't feel as if I am ready to let go of the Drake's I am desperately hoping that Alyxandra will write a few novellas with the relationships as the center so I can get my closure especially with Solange and Kieran as well as Lucy and Nicholas.
