First class new wave horror,
This review is from: The Faceless (Paperback)
This is a tight and tense book that thrills the reader. It is not for the faint hearted. Whoever wrote this can certainly hold a steady and effective narrative pace, and he also knows his way around classic cinema. There are many elements in this book that made me think of the classic old horror movies - before gorno et al - that understand how to induce an atmosphere of dread. This is a very creepy book in places.
There are many who dismiss genre fiction as second rate, or in some other way lacking. Truly decent horror writing - of which this is an example - genuinely shows this view as false. An excellent book, and I highly recommend it.
