This review is from: The De Vany Diet: Eat lots, exercise little; shed 5lbs in 1 week, lose fat; gain muscle, look younger; feel stronger (Paperback)
De Vany shows you in this book how to change the way you eat and train physically. Adapt these changes, they will make you feel better and look younger - after following the guidelines for a month, I can testify that they work extremely well.
Gone are all the slumps before and after noon where the sugar rush from the breakfast or lunch has worn off, leaving you sleepy. My energy levels are now much more constant, enabling me to keep going through the whole day without slowdowns.
The food you will eat will taste better - and the variety of it has increased as well after incorporating the diet into my life. Green salads with meat, fish, vegetables and fruit in colorful tones - none of the grey or brown only left in my menu.
Giving up all the sugar and non-food items (cakes, biscuits, ice-cream, sodas) and grains (breads, beans, pasta, cereals) is not only good for you and your health, it is easier than you think. After the first week your body no longer craves for them and it becomes less of a strain of willpower to keep avoiding the sugary foods you are bombarded with everywhere.
And you do not need to avoid these foods at all costs - once you think about it, the only exciting thing for your brain about these foods is the taste - there is no need to eat the whole cake at one go to enjoy it. Two bites of it will satisfy your brain and leave you with a good memory of having tasted something good without ruining your blood sugar levels and your waistline.
Also, please do follow the training guidelines given by De Vany. There is no excessive need to train hours upon end. 2 to 3 training sessions 20 - 30 minutes each per week, with high intensity levels are enough. And if you cannot take the time to go for weightlifting at a gym, read You Are Your Own Gym: The Bible of Bodyweight Exercises. You can build your muscles at home without all the big weights and impressive looking machinery. Strength training at home will save you time, you will be done with a training session in less time than it would have taken you to back your gym back and drive to the training hall.
All the facts given in book are backed up with references and scientific research - De Vany himself has been living the diet for over two decades and can be positively envied for his young looks and vitality in his seventies.
