Average but enjoyable,

This review is from: The Infernal City: An Elder Scrolls Novel (Elder Scrolls 1) (Paperback)
When I first began reading the Infernal City, I found myself putting it down and not wanting to pick it up again. The characters start to develop a little during the course of the story, but it stops there. They often seem a little flat with not much beyond the surface, though occasionally they will gain more depth, but not enough for me to really care about what happens to most of the main characters. One in particular vanishes for most of the book to return later when you've all but forgotten about him. The book is average in terms of writing, not too simple and not too complex, probably to it's detriment.
I like the fact that this book exists despite some of the misgivings I had for it. Overall I enjoyed it.
