This review is from: Death Stalks the Night (Hardcover)
Hugh B Cave is a legend in the pulp world - in his early 90's and he's still writing!
Death Stalks the Night collects together some of his earliest pieces written during the 1930s for magazines like Terror Tales and Dime Mystery.
As you'd expect from a pulpster like Cave - his tales are fast paced and furious. With titles like "Death calls from the Madhouse" and "Satan's Mistress" you know what to expect - unsubtle, straight forward and decidely politically incorrect adventure. They're also a lot of fun too - a snapshop of the times before TV when if you couldn't afford to visit the movies for only a few cents you could transport yourself anywhere in the world (or beyond) with the aid of a pulp magazine.
Fedogan and Bremer have rescued 17 rare tales from the dusty files of pulp collectors - it would cost a fortune to buy the original magazines today. This limited edition is already a collectors item - catch it while you can, before the crawling ones get you...
