"fitting was a bit fiddly" "not the easiest to install" these are both massive understatements. as someone who is fairly handy with workshop and production line experience these were without question the most difficult self-assembly item i have ever had the misfortune to come across.
once the stays are cut to fit there is hardly any scope to adjust the mudguard position. i had to resort to bending the stays into shape to avoid touching the side wall of the tyres. i gave up after fitting the front mudguard. if i ever bother to have a go at the rear one i will ditch the enclosed fitments and just bolt the stays on as they are.
it's difficult to understand how such a simple piece of kit could have been so poorly over-designed. avoid.

C. G. Wheeler says:
Oh Dear! As I said "a little fiddly but with care and thought, quite simple to those with even the lowest of DIY skills." I am running 700c x 28's with a good 1/2 inch clearance on either side of the tyre and a perfect radius around the wheels. As for cutting the stays, it is not difficult with a ruler to measure the stay length required. As a DIY duffer I had no problems at all. Now they are a perfect fit. Perhaps the rest of us were just luckier.
