Ministry of terrible design strikes again,
This review is from: Waterpik WP100 Ultra Water Flosser (Personal Care)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Well I have never liked regular flossing and those inter-dental brushes drive me mad. So when this popped up on Amazon vine I thought it worth while giving it a go.
The design is fairly neat and there is space to keep all the heads in one place in the lid of the water reservoir. It looks and is simple to use and I have found that it does do a good job at cleaning between most of my teeth. The different heads to mean that you can use it for a variety of different things and I think the orthodontic one would be of great use for those with braces to clean these off. Additional heads can be bought so it can be used hygienically by more than one person.
The power selector is good and I normally have it set on 7/10. Any higher and it feels a bit like sand blasting as the pulsing water jet does get a bit strong.
However, it has one or two MAJOR design problem. It is fitted with a three pin plug. Now who actually has a three pin plug in their bathroom? No-one as it is not legal to install them there. Apparently this was not a mistake or an oversight as I did contact Waterpik to ask about this and all they could say was they were aware it was inconvenient but the three pin plug was needed to give enough power to the pump. The only way to use this is to use it where you have a mirror and a regular socket, for me this is only my bedroom. So I have to use it over a bowl - a major inconvenience.
The head release button is also far too easy to press whilst in use so water ends up everywhere which as I have a pale carpet isn't the best thing in the world. The number of slots to store the heads in is only 4 whilst this has 6 different heads so all of these won't even fit in this inbuilt storage.
In all I am glad I got this via the vine programme as If I had bought this online as soon as it arrived it would have been sent back due to the problem with the three pin plug idea. Until this problem is sorted out then I'm afraid this item isn't much good to anyone. Unless you like watering your bedroom or front room whilst flossing your teeth.
