Firstly, I'd like to say that I found the whole Ayurveda aspect of this book a load of old tosh. Primarily, because both my wife and myself both turned out to be a fairly even balance of all three elements, as I suspect most people will be, so for me, in that respect, it seemed a little like reading magazine horoscopes that apply to pretty much everyone. That aside, it contains some nice recipes, although not as many as in Anjum's Indian Food Made Easy, which generally are nicer, but consequently more fattening. Most of the recipes in this book are low fat and low in carbs and I'd imagine that if you stuck to just eating them you would indeed lose weight, but I think if you mix them in with a few other low fat,low carb, recipes you'll also lose weight or at least not gain weight. We've picked out a few and mostly they've been very nice, although a couple were a bit boring and bland for my taste. So, overall, a nice book to have with some good healthy recipes.
