Lightweight introduction to the concepts of TypeScript. To be honest I think that the idea seems to be to dumb down JavaScript for the Microsoft .Net devs.

A lot of the language features in TypeScript are actually coming to JavaScript - so in a way it is early access to the ECMAScript Harmony / ECMAScript 6 language features.

Oh Dear, you missed the whole point of Typescript and that is to elevate Javascript to a proper object oriented language that assists rather than fights with a developer to produce more accurate code the first time through (with out the mistakes that strong typing traps)
