PS4 Dual Shock Twin Charging Dock,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: ORB Dual Controller Charge Dock (PS4) (Accessory)
I've had a charging dock for my dual shock 3 for years and it was alwasy fabulously easy to use and totally reliable, so how does this stack up to my previous charging stand.
Firstly this doesn't come with a mains adaptor. The manual shows that you are supposed to plug this into the PS4 with the cable supplied that has two USB-A connectors that connect into 1 Mini USB that fits into the charging dock.
I have tried this with a 1A usb power adaptor plug and just connecting one of the USB cables and it seems to charge so clearly it can work of a mains supply.
Docking of the controllers though is fiddly and took me quite a few attempts to get the controllers on which is completely opposite to my old dock.
I don't know if this is because the controllers and the dock are new or because the design of the dock.
Speaking of design the controllers when sat on the USB connector do not actually touch the base of the dock they simply "float" on the USB connectors which personally look like they are too long.
Having only had the dock a short while I can't say whether this is a problem but it concerns me that repeated use of this stand "may" damage the controllers USB sockets. However the jury is still out on that one.
Other than that the important information is that the dock glows red while charging the controllers and then automatically stops when the controllers are charged changing back to the default blue.
Overall I rate this as OK but not brilliant.
PS - I don't undertstand why Amazon classes this as a game so don't shoot the reviewer for the strange fun and overall rating please :-)
