Without knowing more details it is not possible for me to say where your real problem may be. May I suggest you be sure to flash the latest firmware to your Naga Epic and make sure you are using the latest drivers. You can find both the drivers and the firmware at www.razersupport.com/downloads . If you are still having problems can you please contact the Razer Support Team at www.razersupport.com/email and the team will help get your problems corrected.
The Naga Epic and original Naga both come with "trainers" that you can temporarily attach to the side buttons. These trainers will help you become more comfortable with the Naga's side buttons. Most users report that after a day or two of use that that the side buttons are second nature and become an indispensable part of their gaming needs.
I hope these suggestions help and you can soon start using and enjoying your Naga .
