I think most people giving this effort 5 stars, are ardent Minogue fans! And would give it 5 stars whatever the content! Sorry, but since Light Years her albums in quality have continued to disintergrate downhill along with their chart placings, Fever was the exception but then it mirrored so many of Madonna's early classics it was bound not to fail! And that theme continued with Body Language, the dreadful X and Confessions On A Dancefloor-esque Aphrodite. The problem? She's just not that good at re-inventing herself as Madonna. Despite the fact she continues to work with Madonna's cast offs like Stuart Price, Bloodshy, Stephen Bray and now Pharrell, it just never works second time round. She's even irked out a Madonna style record deal and label change for this her 12th effort, but it doesnt work! Kylie trying to be sexy in her mid 40's in a pop tease kind of way no longer works for her, it makes her look desperate, boring actually!. The songs referencing Sex in their title come across as imature and their for titilation purposes. As for the music, Into The Blue was the right lead single as its a blinding dance track, but it fails because her market has now changed drastically, who is she aimed at now?! We come back to her ardent fans i think! The rest of the album is pretty much pop/r&b light nonsense without any great depth or meaning, no MDNA style entendres here im afraid, just band wagon jumping and the same old same old! Probably why it failed so dismally in the charts around the world... Business as usual for team Kylie then!
