This review is from: Unbroken: The Story of a Submarine (Paperback)
I really enjoyed this book, it has facts in it that you would otherwise miss and explanation on why submarine life was difficult and challenging at the same time. It gives the reader a deeper understanding of what it was like day to day in a submarine but also the other aspects of submariner lift, good and the bad. The pressure on the commanders was immense and you can really understand why. It also talks a lot about the situation in Malta and North Africa which I was interested in, basically it gives you quite a good personal account of the Mediterranean theatre during the war.
