I loved the first book so was very excited to hear a second one was being published. After multiple date changes and delays in publication the book finally arrived this week. The projects look fab and I can't wait to get started - but the finish of the book is poor. It is not hardback as stated and there are a number of typos (the most notable being in the 'Note to Knitters' sections - every time there should be the sequence of letters 'fi', a capital 'I' with umlaut appears instead). I know the content of the book is the most important but this does not fill me with confidence when it comes to the patterns themselves (I've read through them but it's hard to follow when you're not actually knitting it. I just hope there are no typos in there!) and, well, it's just a bit shoddy and I'm a little disappointed.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for my book. I'm so sorry to have disappointed you and to lose 2 stars for things that really had nothing to do with the two and half years of hard work me and my amazing test knitters put in, but that's just part of working on a project with many elements I can't control I guess.
I hope that the things you mention (that frustrate me as much as they do you!) don't hamper your enjoyment of the book too much.
Oh and I'm really glad you loved my first book and perhaps you'll leave a review for that too if you get a chance. : )
Feel free to email me if you need to about anything to do with my books or if you need any addtional knitting help.
All the best,
Author of Knitty Gritty

Thanks for responding to my feedback. Of course the editorial process isn't under your control - it's a shame the quality control of whoever you used to publish the book obviously isn't up to scratch! As I say the patterns themselves look fantastic and comprehensive, just like in the first book, it's just disappointing to see silly mistakes like typos which should have been picked up by proof readers or whoever. I'm not surprised it's very disappointing for you too! I haven't knitted any of them yet but if I find any typos that affect patterns at any point I'll be sure to update here.
Thanks very much for the links, I look forward to perusing them!
