Don't get me wrong, I am a major Switcheasy fan and loved the Canvas for the iPad 2 despite the cracking issues of the plastic housing case. I can only assume that they have dealt with this in their latest offering. For me there are two major issues with this case. The first is the removal of the closing latch. I know early editions of the Canvas had problems with the latch being too tight, but they seem to have resolved this with later models. For me personally, I feel the latch is important for traveling purposes, keeping the case closed and preventing it from popping open in a rucksack or similar. Also, if you use this case in book mode the magnets are not strong enough to keep the case closed once you decide to put the iPad away, you really need to lay it face down to ensure it stays closed and activates the sleep / awake feature. My biggest gripe however is that Switcheasy has narrowed the docking port by a fraction of a millimetre and is now unable to accommodate the Apple photo connector kit, a major oversite in my opinion. Unfortunately, although you can remove the iPad from the case, it completely draws away from the convenience of having the connector kit in the first place. The canvas still offers the most comprehensive protection than most cases out there, but these niggles are enough for me to consider a case like the STM grip.
