Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Nikon AF-S VR 70-300 f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED (Camera)
I upgraded my 55-200 to this lens because I wanted to get some good pictures of my little boy in the park without following him around so closely. He's an energetic little whatsit so the AF has to be quick, which this one is.
The only downside that I've found is that it has a minimum focus distance of around 4 feet (mine comes in a little less) so it's not much good around the house.
Although this lens is heavier than my 55-200 by a significant margin after about a week I had learned to compensate for the weight, and I can walk around with it for a few hours without neck ache.
I like the VR II feature because it means that I don't have to lug around a tripod everywhere I go.
