Foley is still god,
This review is from: WWE: For All Mankind - The Life And Career Of Mick Foley [DVD] (DVD)
I will not go into who he is or what he has done as you do know this. But if you do this is a DVD you have to own. I will not tell you about the extras as I have yet to watch them but as far as I can see most of the matches you have. So over to the Documentary.
A little over two hours and it does go right back to when he was a kid. His family must have had a really good camera for the time as the family footage is fantastic and really sets this DVD above all other wrestlers dvds.
The whole thing is done a little different from other WWE videos. Not as much graphics or that really anhoying music they use for the "Sad" parts but a proper stripped down informative video. Old footage from WCCW, AWA, ECW and others add in to the feel of how Mick got into the business. Add in a few stories and exactly how much work he did to get here. His work back then in the 80s was unique and considered crazy.
From his first TV match up to what he does now as a stand up. Mick opens up about all the big matches like Hell in a Cell he says why he really went for it. Guests talk about Mick and tell you what they thought of him. The man really did help change the business for the better. The video quality for much of this is very good as is the sound. But it has been treated with respect and WWE deserve a bonus point in the production.
A fun watch for all fans but Foley fans need this and for kids that have not seen the "attitude" era or the "ECW" harcdore stuff it is an eyeopener. It simply is not like this now.
Add in another sort of documentary on his work on the mic, it is an extra but it is more an extention of the main feature. mick talks about promos and matches. His fellow wrestlers talk of what some of his bumps ment to them. Again done very basic it really is worth the same money again.
Fans will love this. Don't put this DVD in with the other wrestling DVDs as there is so much going on here it should be in its own section.
