3.0 out of 5 stars Worse than Black Ops, 13 Nov 2011

This review is from: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (PS3) (Video Game)
I got MW3 for the MP mode mainly. It's worse than Black Ops in almost every way, so I'll be going back to that after just 3 days. The graphics are more cartoon like (lose the UI artist please, this is not a Commodore Amiga!) and maps are like rat runs as a previous reviewer said. I only found 3 maps I could live with. Fighting seems more two dimensional and random, with almost no strategy, just who can aim the fastest. Servers drop regularly too.

On Black Ops I reach privilege 7 after 3 months and really got into it. On MW3 I reached bordem in 3 days (reaching rank 19) then falling asleep on the last few sessions; as if I was simply counting sheep as the MP gameplay is so repetitive and 2D.

My verdict: Stick to MW2 and Black Ops and save your money. It's s shame they already have mine.

I guess it just comes down to a difference of opinion, I found Blops sort of dull. Couple of good MP levels and hazy graphics. Conversely am really enjoying MW3 - even though I didn't really expect to. I find a good deal of the levels fun and strategic thinking goes a long way (depending on the mode you play I guess) and I've reached the dizzy heights of level 28 in only a few hours of play...?
Big question though: How can you know and criticise ALL of these 'rat run' levels and only be level 19??? Seriously dude, I'm not playing the role of mad fanboy here, this is a genuine question. I'm at level 28 and haven't even SEEN all 16 maps yet!!?! And I'm pretty rubbish at the game! (Kill/Death ratio breaks about even).

This seems like a bit of a knee-jerk reaction to me!
