Good writing but poor marketing and proofreading,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Wife in the North (Kindle Edition)
This is a well written book. It's poignant and thoughtful. However it is not a hilarious tale of rural living, it's the author's soul-searching reflections as she totters on the edge of depression, which wasn't what I wanted or expected from the cover, and I wish it hadn't been marketed as such. It may sell more copies of this book, but if she writes a sequel, how many possible readers will already have been alienated?
Also, I bought the Kindle edition and the lack of proofreading is frankly irritating. I don't know what scanning product they used to turn it into an e-book, but it can't tell the difference between the letter i and the number 1. And those well known Northumbrian islands, the Fame islands? Obviously where the author mingles with her celebrity friends ...
