Excellent 'insider' view on Hollywood,

Fascinating tale of how Disney essentially killed it's own movie, John Carter (of Mars). A catalogue of marketing blunders coupled with an obvious desire to bury the film by Disney has given this film a reputation it certainly does not deserve.
Why? With the acquisition of the Star Wars franchise on the horizon, Disney had no need for a home-grown Sci-Fi franchise, so they did what any right-minded corporation would do - They sabotaged their own $250M film with lousy marketing.
An excellent book (needs another proof-reading though as they are a few typos).
Incidentally the film John Carter (of Mars) is also excellent. It's not perfect but it's certainly better than any of the Star Wars prequels.
