Best version available - It's a port of the HD DVD transfer,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Total Recall [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)I see this product has one review by a sadly misguided soul who thinks this is a bad grainy transfer. First of all, this is the same transfer as the excellent HD DVD version, also the pitch problem has been fixed too. I had owned the US artisan release on Blu-ray prior to this and this is a big improvement on that transfer. The disc is coded region A,B. The sound is 5.1 DTS HD master audio. Due to the lack of any extras it misses the final star for my review. However, in terms of image and sound quality, This is the best version available of this cracking film.

Why oh why oh why do people review products long before its release dates, this is for the future release of 'TR' out next month it is okay to give a review of the film as it has been out on different formats before but seeing as this is for the updated 'Blu-ray' version and not an HD DVD as most people are comparing most of us are only interested if it lives up to its own review given as last 'BD' release was pants! - So everyone should hold off on reviews until the movie has been seen!

How did you get a copy of the film before its release date?? It hasn't even been released in another region yet so could you not put up false comments or better still STOP LYING as you haven't seen it yet!!!

To the above three people:
They are reviewing/talking about one of the older bluray editions - see the product title at the top of the review paragraph (below name) and compare it to the full product title at the top of the Amazon product page you clicked on.
Unfortunately Amazon has an annoying tradition of lumping all the reviews for the different formats/editions of the same film/album/etc. into the same page. You may notice that the review was written in 2008 and the comment after that was in 2010 a year and a half ago.

Very true Jeff, although I can add to the discussion by saying that I received the Ultimate Rekall Edition this morning and the transfer is practically identical to the previous Optimum release. If you already own the bare bones Optimum UK version then only upgrade if you want the extras (which are fairly decent to be fair).
