A once brilliant book, now hopelessly out of date.,
This review is from: The Art of Electronics (Hardcover)
The Art of Electronics was a once great book on electronics. But for at least 10 years now it has been hopelessly out of date. The art has moved on and many of the components referenced in both this book and its accompanying handbook haven't been made for years and are impossible to obtain.
The content itself beyond the very basics is also hopelessly dated: the sections of micro computing are hopeless simplistic in the modern world of Arduino, Pi, PIC controllers and all manner of cheap micro-processors and the like.
Don't buy this book; instead hold onto your money and hope the third edition -when and if it ever appears- is a worthy successor and suitable for the middle of the second decade of the 21st century.
