4 star product,
This review is from: NEW & improved ClimeMET CM9088 Digital Wireless Weather Station NOW with Moon Phase, Sunrise & Sunset times (Kitchen & Home)
The weather station is quite an attractive affair and seems quite accurate.
The remote has a claimed range of 100m which is 3 times better than some other weather stations.
Side by side readings of the weather station and its remote are almost identical (1% difference in humidity and 0.2C difference in temperature when left for an hour or so)
Time and date can be set manually or if left will attempt to pick up the atomic clock every 2 hours. If found it will override any manual settings.
The station has 4 weather symbols, sunny, partly cloudy, cloudy and rainy. I would have liked a snow symbol triggered if the temperature fell below 2C but alas I am left wanting.
A tendency arrow points left or right depending if pressure is rising or falling.
There is a choice as to how air pressure is displayed. Relative, which is sea level air pressure that can't be adjusted or absolute, which allows for the home owner to make an adjustment to the weather station for altitude. You can type into Google "local weather barometric pressure" and then selecting the eldoradocountyweather.com link to find the correct pressure but it is a good idea to wait for calm conditions to get an accurate reading.
The manual makes no mention about adjusting pressure but just hold down the set button for 3 seconds and then keep pressing the set button a further 9 times. You can now press + to increase the reading or Min/max to decrease the reading.
The bar chart can be adjusted for sensitivity which continually builds a pressure chart from right to left to avoid screen burn.
All in all a 5 star product which also goes by the name of DB-Tech weather station, TFA Gaia and the Ambient Weather WS-1171. Download a full manual here [...]
Although my weather station had no problems picking up the atomic clock I have noticed that the clock is now 37 seconds fast and that the radio controlled icon is no longer illuminated. The clock is picked up via the remote sensor.
The remote sensor has now stopped working. The remote display is blank even after changing the batteries twice. I contacted the seller who replaced the sensor.
I have had this weather station for several months now and am still a big fan of it. I also have two Oregon Scientific weather stations. I have noticed over the months that the Oregon's react quicker to changing conditions so the correct weather symbols appear first on the Oregon's. Today for instance the bar chart on this weather station was showing a big drop in pressure and predicted a cloudy day while the Oregon's predict rain, eventually this weather station also showed rain. Today's BBC forecast is for a day of rain with strong winds.
