This lens is cheap for a reason cannot be compared with other similar lenses,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Sony High Zoom 55-210mm E-Mount Lens (Camera)
The lens was advertised as having instructions and I also expected a Sony guarantee. It came in a plain brown box. Unlike the Sony camera case I ordered from Amazon at the same time it has no Sony paperwork whatsoever. There are no instructions, no guarantee etc. Had a wanted a lens of this pedigree I would have gone to eBay not Amazon. I have tried to leave my review on the sellers website but Amazon have crossed it out saying it was fulfilled by Amazon, however, they have taken no action to correct the problem. I still have had a very substandard experience from Amazon. I don't understand all the complexities of "fulfilled by Amazon" but it looks like a way substandard items can be passed off at near full price and there is nothing the poor customer can do. I am not happy. Perhaps this time my review will be allowed to stay and count against the seller. If not there is no other way that further customers can be warned not to expect a Sony box, instructions and most importantly a guarantee.

The lens was not in a sony box because it was part of a kit. My lens came in a simple box(well wrapped) too. I registered it with the online sony site and guarantee was approved. No printed manual is needed either, you can download it from sony too. What is the problem?

"Fulfilled by Amazon" basically means a seller sends all their stuff to Amazon's warehouse, you order, Amazon send it to you. Amazon have no interest in what is actually in the box, they simply send it. Therefore it simply means it's a third party seller, with Amazon doing the leg work. The only sure fire way to deal with Amazon is to make sure you only buy directly from them.
