We are very sorry to learn that your sledge has arrived in such poor condition. The described state of the sledge would be extremely unusual for an article shipped from an Amazon warehouse. Is it possible you orderd the sledge from a dealer on Amazon Marketplace? That would be the only explanation we have.
If you purchased your sledge directly from Amazon, we can offer to send a replacement in fine condition.
